Appleton, Wisconsin (May 18, 2016) – On Friday, May 13th, Shannon Full, President/CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber signed a Statement of Support for the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR). ESGR encourages employers to act as advocates for employee participation in the military.

“With May being National Military Appreciation Month, this was a great opportunity, on behalf of our members, to recognize the service and expertise of the men and women serving our country,” shared Full. “These men and women in our armed forces are able to bring applicable leadership and technical skills back to their employers as a result of their service. By signing this Statement of Support, the Chamber is in a position to highlight these skills that employers are looking for in the area.”

The signed Statement of Support pledges:

· We fully recognize, honor and comply with the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).
· We will provide our managers and supervisors with the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
· We appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans.
· We will continually recognize and support our country’s Service members and their families, in peace, in crises and in war.

The Fox Cities Chamber is among hundreds of thousands of employers who have signed Statements of Support. “Employers who sign an ESGR Statement of Support are a critical component of our national defense strategy. One of ESGR’s missions is to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service members of the National Guard and Reserve,” said Mike Williams, Chairman of the Wisconsin Committee.
