Fox Cities Chamber to host first-ever workforce event,
The Forum: Investing In People, on April 12

Appleton, Wisconsin (March 28, 2016) – The Talent Collaborative, a division of the Fox Cities Chamber, is hosting its first-ever workforce forum on Tuesday, April 12 at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton from 7:00AM – 12:15PM. This premier half-day event will gather business, education and community leaders for interactive conversations and sharing of best practices and solutions around the joint responsibility to develop, attract and retain a thriving workforce.

The event will kickoff with guest speaker Jeff Sachse, Director and Senior Economist for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, as he provides a brief overview of the critical needs facing the Fox Cities economy and discusses ways in which collaborative partnerships can build a stronger talent pipeline. “The goal of The Forum is to embrace workforce issues head-on and provide solutions and best practices for the Fox Cities,” says Patty Milka, Vice President of Talent and Education at the Chamber.

The Forum will include various guest speakers, spotlights on success, two breakout sessions and one panel discussion. “I’m very excited to be participating in this event. It’s yet another example of the commitment and unified approach this community has to the development of our future workforce through regional partnerships in business, education and community and cultural development groups. It definitely feels like folks are involved for the greater good of our community,” shares Jeff Lang, President/CEO of Omni Resources and a guest speaker at The Forum.

The breakout sessions include the how-tos: connecting to your future workforce, establishing partnerships and organizational culture – back to the basics; a panel discussion will cover the topic of culture, the differentiator for success.

“This is going to be a very important day for our community. Our goals at the Chamber include investing in people, strengthening business and inspiring community. The Forum will tie together these three objectives so we can determine the challenges in our area and strategize the best solutions to develop, attract and retain our workforce,” shares Shannon Full, Chamber President/CEO.

The Forum: Investing in People will be held on Tuesday, April 12th at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel (333 W. College Avenue, Appleton) from 7:00AM – 12:15PM. A light breakfast will be provided. For registration and to view the full agenda, visit http://bit.ly/the-forum-2016.
