Capstone National Partners (Capstone), a full service
government affairs firm with offices in Washington, D.C and Milwaukee, WI is delighted to
announce that John Weinfurter has joined its Washington, DC team as partner.
John Rogers, Capstone CEO and founder, commented,
“John brings an unparalleled knowledge of how to get things done in Washington, DC —
not an easy feat in today’s political climate. With his coming on board we have
deepened our bench strength, adding value to Capstone’s current and future clients.”
Mr. Weinfurter has spent his career in Washington. Following a 20 -year career on Capitol Hill
as Chief of Staff to Massachusetts Rep. Joe Moakley (D), chairman of the House Rules
Committee, he brought his unique understanding of policy and the inner workings of Congress
to the private sector, serving clients across a broad spectrum of market sectors, including
healthcare, energy, insurance, financial services, international development and procurement.
Prior to joining Capstone, he served as VP Government Affairs at Witt O’Brien, the global leader
in crisis and emergency management headed by former FEMA Director James Lee Witt. He also
served as President and Principal at KSCW, Inc.
John is also the current President of the House Chiefs of Staff Alumni Association (HCOSAA), a
bipartisan member-driven educational and professional organization that brings together
former and current House Chiefs of Staff for networking events and presentations on current
events. His elegant Capitol Hill town house, just a block from the Hart Senate Office Building,
has become one of the most popular sites for fundraising events.
“I grew up and went to college in Wisconsin, so joining Capstone, with its Washington
base and Wisconsin focus, is like coming home,” said Mr. Weinfurter. “It’s a privilege to
work with such a cohesive, knowledgeable and dedicated group of lobbyists –a winning
combination for our Wisconsin, national and international clients. I am so excited to
work at Capstone.”
