Todd Van Zeeland Appointed as New Chairman of the
Wisconsin Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association
Madison, Wis. (April 7, 2015) –The Wisconsin Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association (WPMCA) is proud to announce Todd Van Zeeland’s appointment as chairman of the organization’s board of directors.
Van Zeeland is the President of Van Zeeland Oil Company in the Fox Valley. The company operates 12 convenience stores, five auto-care centers and provides wholesale fuel sales, serving customers from Green Bay to Oshkosh. He began his career in the oil industry in 1995. Todd is the third generation to lead the family business that began as Van’s Oil Company in 1937 by his grandfather, Peter. The company became Van Zeeland Oil Company in 1963 when his dad and two brothers took over the business.
“There are many important issues impacting our industry and I’m honored to help our members in the coming year,” said Van Zeeland. “I’m particularly interested in monitoring our legislators’ activities because there are often unintended consequences for some of the policies they’re considering. It’s up to us to help them understand the long-term impact of some of the decisions being made today that could have a negative effect on our members and industry tomorrow.”
Van Zeeland is also concerned about membership due to the changing forces in the petroleum industry. “It’s something we need to pay more attention to in 2015 and consider the impact it might have on our future,” he said.
Van Zeeland has been a member of the board for at least three terms, currently serving as Vice Chairman. “Todd’s thoughtful understanding and industry knowledge makes him a perfect choice to lead our organization in 2015,” said WPMCA President Matt Hauser. “We look forward to working with him to strengthen our association for today – and tomorrow.”
