MILWAUKEE – August 6, 2015– The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. (WHD) is pleased to announce that Lisa M. Lawless has been named leader of the Appellate Team and Ross A. Anderson has joined Karen Tidwall as co-leader of the Business & Commercial Litigation Team.

Lawless is an attorney in WHD’s Milwaukee office where she is a member of the Appellate, Business & Commercial Litigation, Consumer Financial Services and Intellectual Property Litigation teams.

Over the last 20 years, Lawless has built a substantial appellate practice, handling more than 70 appeals and arguing before the Wisconsin Supreme Court twice in the last five years. The variety and depth of this practice includes briefing, motion practice, petitions for review, and amicus briefs in the appellate courts of Wisconsin and elsewhere. She also has had substantial experience handling litigation in state and federal trial courts as well as arbitrations.

Lawless is a State Bar of Wisconsin leader, recently completing her term on the Board of Governors, serving as Chairperson of the State Bar Strategic Planning Committee, and receiving the State Bar’s President’s Award for her leadership. Within the community, Lawless is a board member of Wild Space Dance Company and she is active in the Women’s Soccer Club. She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law, and her B.A. in History and American Studies from the University of Virginia.

Anderson is a shareholder in WHD’s Milwaukee office, where he serves as the firm’s General Counsel and is the firm’s only elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates’ Wisconsin Chapter. Devoting his entire career to litigation, and most recently serving as co- leader of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, he is a member of the Construction Services—Litigation, Professional Liability Litigation and Business & Commercial Litigation teams.

From serving as a mediator or arbitrator—including lecturing on alternative dispute resolution procedures—to handling professional malpractice claims involving attorneys, accountants, registered representative/broker-dealers, real estate brokers, architects and engineers, Anderson’s representative work experience is comprehensive.

Anderson received the 2014 Leader in the Law award from the Wisconsin Law Journal. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Marquette University Law School, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Carthage College.

“We are excited to bring Lisa and Ross into these significant leadership positions,” said WHD’s Chief Executive Paul Eberle. “Not only are they truly committed to the service and success of their clients, but they are also dedicated to the betterment of their teams and the firm.”
