WEDC’s Hall to retire next month

Reed Hall, who was brought in to oversee the troubled Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. in 2012, is retiring.

Hall had retired as Marshfield Clinic’s executive director when he was tapped for the post. He said the appointment was originally meant to be for an interim period of three months.

“Three years later it is time for me to return to my previous retired status,” Hall said in an announcement today.

Hall’s last day will be Sept. 25. The agency said he will still follow through with a prior commitment to attend a September trade mission to Japan with Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. But WEDC said Hall will reimburse the state for expenses associated with the trip.
