State banking trade association adds to government relations team

(Madison) Rose Oswald Poels, president and CEO of the Wisconsin Bankers Association, is pleased to announce that Jon Turke has joined the WBA as its new Director – Government Relations. “Jon is a great addition to our staff and will serve our members well by advocating for our issues in Madison.”

In this new role, Turke’s responsibilities include organizing bankers at the grassroots level, political fundraising and helping to advance the interests of Wisconsin bankers in the State Capitol.

Prior to joining WBA, Turke worked for five years in the State Legislature, most recently as Chief of Staff in the office of the Assembly Majority Leader. Additionally, he has held numerous positions on a variety of state and federal political campaigns. He has a degree in Political Science and International Studies –Global Security from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

In addition to other roles at the association, Michael Semmann will continue to lead the government relations and communications teams at WBA as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.
