Student receives a $2,500 chiropractic scholarship

PALMYRA, Wis. (November 24, 2015)—Chiropractic student Katie Benson received a $2,500 Standard Process scholarship award at Cleveland University-Kansas City (CU-KC), in Overland Park, Kansas. Benson, a fifth-trimester student in the university’s College of Chiropractic, accepted her scholarship from Chiropractor and University President Carl S. Cleveland III on October 16.

“Katie is very excited and greatly appreciative to receive the Standard Process scholarship,” said Randell Vanderweide, senior financial aid specialist at CU-KC. “She mentioned how beneficial the funds are during this time of year.”

Whole food nutrient solutions company Standard Process Inc. believes nutrition is an important element in the chiropractic wellness model because it can help patients lead a healthier life. For nearly a decade, Standard Process has provided scholarships to students who embrace its whole food philosophy.

The Standard Process scholarship at CU-KC is open to all chiropractic students who have at least one semester remaining before graduating and a cumulative grade point average of 2. 9 or higher. Scholarship applicants need to provide: a list of their contributions to the chiropractic profession, college and community; a letter of recommendation; and a 500-word essay about nutrition.
