Madison, WI 12/1/2015

Santas Without Chimneys (SWC) is welcoming volunteers and donations to help with its goal of providing holiday warmth to homeless children in Madison, Wisconsin. SWC is in its fourth year of operation and remains dedicated to bringing cheer to homeless families in the area.

SWC is an independent, allvolunteer, askbased, crowdsourced, nonfaithbased holiday donation drive for homeless children in the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD). SWC collects wish lists from children so that volunteers can customize gifts to match each child’s wishes. That way a child will receive a package of gifts created just for them. With the assistance of MMSD’s Transitional Education Program (TEP) and district social workers, SWC seeks to bring even more cheer and giving than in previous years.

SWC is fortunate to have a meaningful amount of support from local businesses, community groups, and local organizations. The Willy St. Coop and two local labor unions, LiUNA Local 236 (Madison Streets Division) and Dane County Employee Group 720, generously provide major sponsorship. Program space is provided by Duane Hendrickson, Realtor. So far, local businesses such as Dragonfly Hot Yoga (all Madison area locations), Willy St. Coop (East and West), and the Madison Children’s Museum, among others have teamed up with Santas and community partners such as the Tenant Resource Center and the Madison Streets Division to make this year’s campaign a rousing success. SWC is still accepting support from other organizations and businesses throughout town.

For volunteer information please refer to the SWC website: and fill out the form under the volunteer tab. There are a wide range of tasks available, everything from collecting and wrapping presents to feeding the delivery elves.

Likewise, businesses that wish to have a dropbox in their building or host a toy drive for their employees and customers should see the DropBox tab on the website and contact [email protected] That tab will also contain a list of current donation locations.

SWC is a 501c3 organization focused on helping the homeless in our community. As such, any and all support from our community is greatly appreciated.
