Milwaukee – Olympus Group, producer of large format digital graphics and mascot costumes, held a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the expansion of their corporate office and production facilities at 10 a.m. yesterday at 91st Street and Heather Avenue.

The building expansion will add 13,000 sq. ft. and includes a renovation of existing offices as well as green initiatives like a “blue roof.”

“We are excited to once again expand our printing and customer service capabilities, and we are so proud to bring more jobs to the Milwaukee area,” said Brian Adam, President.

As a tribute to the company’s success, several Olympus-made mascots joined the ceremony donning hard hats and shovels, including Culver’s Scoopie, UW-Milwaukee’s Pounce the Panther, and the Milwaukee Brewers’ Barrelman.

“We’re so pleased to continue working with Olympus on the design and construction of their expansion,” said Nelson Williams, CEO of Briohn Companies. “I’ve never been to a groundbreaking that included 14 mascots, so thank you for this unique opportunity.”

With the expansion, Olympus plans to add at least 50 additional jobs to its Milwaukee headquarters.

The expansion of their Orlando production facility has begun as well. The expected completion date of both expansions is January 2016.
