Milwaukee, WI – Michael Best & Friedrich LLP proudly announces the Wisconsin Law Journal selected attorneys Miriam S. Fleming and Ann Ustad Smith as 2015 Women in the Law award recipients. The publication’s annual Women in the Law award honors 30 top female attorneys for their outstanding achievements in the legal field who have also paved the way for success for other women in the practice of law.

Ms. Fleming, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, has more than 30 years of experience in both the business and legal realms. Her national law practice emphasizes complex commercial, contract, patent, trade secret, restrictive covenant and employment discrimination litigation.

Ms. Smith, who chairs the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Industry Group, works with lenders and their customers to establish and navigate their financial relationships. She helps clients address concerns arising from interpretation of loan documents, contract disputes, financially distressed situations, fraud and other commercial difficulties, including in bankruptcy and receivership proceedings. She has held a number of management and leadership positions at Michael Best, including serving as chair of Michael Best’s Ethics Committee and as a member of the Management Committee.

Fleming and Smith, along with the other 2015 Women in the Law award recipients, will be honored at a Wisconsin Law Journal event on June 11 at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.
