Michael Best & Friedrich LLP: Designated EPA WasteWise Partner

Milwaukee – The law firm of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP has again been designated by the Environmental Protection Agency as a WasteWise Partner. This voluntary program asks that participants do what they can to prevent waste. That is, use only the material needed to get the job done and then recycle what waste cannot be prevented and buy recycled products. The WasteWise designation provides validation the firm’s sustainability efforts continue to be successful.

Although participation in the WasteWise Program is voluntary, Michael Best takes its involvement very seriously. A few of the waste reduction initiatives undertaken by the employees of Michael Best include:

• Assuring that appropriately labeled bins are available in all offices and in all common areas that improve the effectiveness of our existing recycling efforts;
• Providing collection bins that enable recycling and/or proper disposal of a broader range of our waste streams, such as used batteries; and

• Recycling toner cartridges for printers.

Michael Best’s firm-wide sustainability program was implemented in an effort to positively impact the environment while realizing measureable improvements and a return on investment. Additional information about the firm’s sustainability initiative can be found on the firm’s website at http://www.michaelbest.com/sustainability/.
