Downtown Madison Family Halloween set for Oct. 28

Madison, Wis. (Sep. 8, 2015)—Enjoy family fun at the Downtown Madison Family Halloween, State Street and the Capitol Square, Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Free and low-cost activities for families and kids 12 and under include magic shows, hayrides, crafts, spooky stories, ghostly tours, festive Halloween photos, trick or treat at participating businesses, and more! Family Fun activities from 3pm – 6pm will include (free unless otherwise indicated):

· Special Overture Kids in the Rotunda “Monster Madness Halloween” shows with Master Magician Tim Glander at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Plus kids and families can stop in the Overture Center lobby for a photo in costume!

· Creepy crafts and spooky stories in the Children’s Room of Madison Public Library’s Central Library

· Fun with skeletons at Madison Museum of Contemporary Art – find them in the art on view, plus create your own, and enjoy spooky stories and crafts.

· Madison Parks Hayrides around the Capitol Square ($2.00/person, no reservations required)

· Make a mask, explore a haunted forest, and take a ghostly tour into the past at the Wisconsin Historical Museum.

· A “design your own candy bag” crafting workshop at DreamBank-American Family Insurance.

· Trick or treating at all the activity locations plus at participating downtown businesses.

These Halloween family fun events are presented by Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID), and the Greater State Street Business Association (GSSBA). Programming Partners who will help present activities and events include Capitol Kids, Madison Children’s Museum, Madison Public Library’s Central Library, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Madison Parks, Overture Center for the Arts, UW-Madison Campus and Visitor Relations, and the Wisconsin Historical Museum.
