UPDATE: GREATER MADISON CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU

CELEBRATES ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE

Statewide totals for Big Bundle Up reach nearly 17,000

(MADISON, WI) –The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is proud to announce that they have completed another successful year collecting winter gear for “The Big Bundle Up” clothing drive. The GMCVB partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism for “The Big Bundle Up” to collect warm winter clothing for a local charity. The 210 items of winter clothing collected at the GMCVB will be donated to the families at the Madison YWCA (101 E. Mifflin St.). The GMCVB served as a donation site where residents and visitors were asked to donate new or gently used winter apparel. Lake Mills Cleaners & Dyers donated their cleaning services for the GMCVB’s donations. They cleaned, sorted and bagged all of the items to ensure each recipient received clean clothing in great condition.

The Big Bundle Up ran from November 25, 2014 – January 2, 2015. This is the fourth year of the program. In addition to the GMCVB, over 70 other locations served as donation sites throughout the state. In total, 16,948 winter items were collected for charities statewide. Visit TravelWisconsin.com for a full listing of donation sites. For more information please contact Erica Rykal at Rykal@visitmadison.com or 608.255.2537 x2626.

The GMCVB is honored to play a key role in supporting the more than 19,000 Dane County jobs supported by tourism. Promoting tourism in Madison since 1972, the GMCVB continues to work tirelessly to expand upon the more than $1.7 billion dollars generated by visitor spending in Dane County every year.
