MADISON, WI, September 24, 2015 – First Business Financial Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: FBIZ) is pleased to announce that Dave Shaw has been inducted into the Hall of Fame at Marian University for his outstanding career as Head Coach for men’s basketball and athletic pioneer.

Coaching Career
In three seasons as Head Coach for men’s basketball, Dave Shaw accumulated a 47-21 record and won two Wisconsin Conference of Independent Colleges championships in 1979 and 1981. He was also honored as WCIC Coach of the Year three times (1978, 1979, and 1981).

In the 80-81 season, Dave led the Sabres to a record-breaking 16-game winning streak and a 22-6 record. The team was ranked No. 2 in the National Little College Athletic Association (NLCAA), and, after winning the NLCAA Midwest Region, they advanced to the Sweet 16.

Dave was a pioneer in Marian Athletics history, assisting in the growth and early success of Sabre sports. He was instrumental in the building of Howard Sadoff Gymnasium which is still home to men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, and numerous campus and community events. Due to Shaw’s early success, Marian Athletics, and the men’s basketball program, are important fixtures in the Fond du Lac community.

Currently Dave is a Vice President of Trust & Investments, and a member of the First Business Charitable Contributions Committee. He is a past chair of the American Heart Association’s Dave McClain research event. Dave is a member of the Carroll College Athletic Board and is currently active with the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer event. He has acted as co-chair of the event three times.

“I’m very excited for Dave and proud of him for this honor,” said UW Men’s Basketball Coach Bo Ryan. “He has been a great friend to Coaches vs. Cancer and the work he has done for Marion Basketball and Sabre Athletics in general is admirable and worthy of being recognized in this way. He is extremely deserving of the Marion Hall of Fame. Congratulations Dave.”

“There is no one more deserving of this honor than Dave Shaw,” said Amy Rohrer, Senior Director of American Cancer Society, Inc. “Dave puts his heart and soul into what he is passionate about, and truly wears the pride he has for his school or organization on his sleeve.”

Rohrer continues, “Every organization longs for incredible leadership from the right volunteers, and we definitely have that and more with Dave. We are thrilled to support him with this tremendous accomplishment!”
