Virtually join Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection for a Twitter chat to answer questions about avian influenza and promote the need for good biosecurity for commercial poultry producers, bird hobbyists and backyard poultry owners. Use the hashtag #chickenchat2015 to join the conversation on Twitter and follow @USDA_APHIS and @widatcp.


Thursday, April 16 at 1 to 2 p.m.


Experts from the USDA, Department of the Interior, state departments of agriculture, the National Turkey Federation and the National Chicken Council will answer questions using the hashtag #chickenchat2015.


To answer your questions about avian influenza, such as: What is avian influenza and how does it spread? What are the signs of illness in birds? Where do I report a sick bird? Is poultry safe to eat? Does this affect people? What can I do to protect my flock?
