The Milwaukee County House of Correction K-9 Unit was started in 1981 with donated Doberman Pinschers and Rottweiler’s. Since then, the unit generated enough money to purchase trained German Shepherds that were shipped in from Germany. With eleven dogs and handlers, two certified instructors and a full team of decoys currently on staff, they are now the largest K-9 Unit in Wisconsin.
