Milwaukee – The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that the chamber was honored with the national Rising Star Chamber Award today at the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)’s 2014 National Business & Leadership Conference in Las Vegas.

“Our affiliation with the NGLCC has helped sharpen the vision for the impact we can have in the state of Wisconsin,” said Jason Rae, Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “This award is a testament to our work in engaging leaders and organizations around the state as we build Wisconsin’s LGBT business community. In less than two years since our founding, we have experienced significant growth as an organization and are appreciative of the generous financial, organizational, and community support we have received. Receiving this award is a tremendous honor for our organization and for our more than 150 members from all around the state who are working every day to build a pro-fairness business community in Wisconsin.”

The Rising Star Award is given to a chamber that exhibits vitality and relevance in its community, brings a unified voice to the LGBT business community it serves, and proves its commitment to being part of the broader national movement. “The NGLCC is proud to recognize the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce with the 2014 Rising Star Award,” said Chance Mitchell, NGLCC Co-Founder and CEO. “The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce truly encapsulates the spirit of this award. In only 22 months as an organization, they have accomplished so much and seen substantial financial and membership growth; we are excited to see what they will do in the future.”
