WCREW’s 14th Annual Showcase Award winners recognized for excellence in commercial real estate

Milwaukee, Wis. – November 6, 2014 – The Wisconsin Commercial Real Estate Women’s (WCREW) 14th Annual Showcase Awards event was held on Oct. 30 with more than 150 local industry professionals and guests. According to Allan Degner, Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling’s Marketing Director and Showcase chairman, the venue at Discovery World set the stage for the annual awards presentation and acknowledgement of commercial real estate professionals and their projects. The Showcase also served as a fundraiser to support the local women’s organization.

WCREW helps women in all disciplines of the commercial real estate industry achieve success by providing opportunities to learn, lead, network and do business together. WCREW is the Wisconsin chapter of the CREW Network, a national organization of commercial real estate professionals from every discipline.

Degner added, the organizing committees would like to thank all of the attendees and sponsors, and congratulate the winning projects which were chosen by a panel of judges made up of experienced and respected local real estate professionals. The 2014 awards were presented to the following:

The Impact Ingenuity – ABB at Innovation Campus.

The Vision Ingenuity – 88Nine Radio Milwaukee.

Impact Achievement – Northwestern Mutual Van Buren Office Building.

Vision Achievement – Groth Design Group Office Remodel.

Judges’ Choice Impact – UWM Children’s Learning Center.

Judges’ Choice Vision – Pizza Man.

“The event provided a valuable opportunity to network and share local projects with team members, clients, friends and family,” said Degner. “A multimedia stage presentation acknowledged a variety of categories and the talented teams who spearheaded the work for their companies throughout Wisconsin,” he said.

Specifically, the Showcase honored commercial real estate development and redevelopment projects that exemplify professional excellence in job creation and economic development, creative use or reuse of space, notable architecture, positive impact on the community, sustainable development, return on investment, use of innovative financing, and other notable factors.

Each year, six projects are selected from real estate and development community submissions. Two distinct categories include Vision and Impact. The Vision Awards recognize projects where participants do more with less with a smaller budget or a smaller space and the development’s success causes it to stand out among the competition. The Impact Awards recognize projects with a larger presence which has a significant impact on the community. All category awards exemplify strong commercial real estate activity in the state of Wisconsin.
