Wil-Kil Pest Control Quality and Technical Director contributes to long-awaited industry technical resource

Sun Prairie, Wis., April 7, 2014…Wil-Kil Pest Control, the Upper Midwest’s quality leader in pest management, recently contributed to Pest Control Technology’s “PCT Guide to Commercial Pest Management.” The long awaited technical resource is co-authored by 14 past and present members of the Copesan Technical Committee, including Shane McCoy, Quality and Technical Training Director for Wil-Kil Pest Control.

Wil-Kil Pest Control is an operating division of Copesan Services, Inc. headquartered in Menomonee Falls, Wis. Established in 1980, the Copesan Technical Committee is recognized as an industry leading resource in solving the most difficult pest challenges and setting the standard for service excellence.

The “PCT Guide to Commercial Pest Management” is devoted to educating pest management professionals on an array of industries. Each chapter focuses on a specific type of industry, ranging from apartments to food processing, and hotels to zoos, providing a quick reference for commercial pest management – a fast growing, and always in-demand industry.

McCoy, an industry leader with over 18 years of experience, authored the “Apartment and Multi-Family Housing” chapter. In this chapter, McCoy shares valuable information for property management professionals including how an effective pest management program can prevent structural damage and public health hazards, information about specific pests, sanitation issues, and methods of prevention and treatment. The chapter also includes information about bed bugs – a continued universal challenge in the property management industry.

McCoy was also co-author of the “Warehouse and Distribution Facilities” chapter, where he discusses how to properly assess the pest pressures in a given facility. The chapter goes on to discuss sanitation, cultural controls and even trailer inspection protocols, a very important element of a successful integrated pest management program. The chapter closes with information on the elements involved in creating an effective integrated pest management program.

“As a representative of Wil-Kil Pest Control, a company with a long history of technical expertise, I am honored to contribute to the advancement of the pest management profession,” said McCoy. “This valuable handbook will help all professionals learn how to better protect food, property and public health for commercial accounts.”
