UW-Platteville: Signs credit for life experience agreement with ASTD

Platteville, Wis., February 5, 2014 – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville and its Distance Learning Center (www.GoUWP.com) has signed a credit for life experience agreement to award graduate credit for the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential, as awarded by the American Society of Training and Development’s (ASTD) Certification Institute. ASTD is the world’s largest association dedicated to the training and development profession. ASTD’s members come from more than 100 countries and connect locally in more than 120 U.S. chapters and with more than 10 international strategic partners.

The agreement provides eligibility for students who have earned the CPLP credential to receive three elective credits in the University’s Master’s of Science in Organizational Change Leadership program.

“We believe professional credentials should bring new opportunities,” said Dawn Drake, executive director of UW-Platteville’s Alternative Delivery Systems. “In today’s business world, these experiences offer significant learning outcomes.”
