MADISON- Two oncologists from the UW Carbone Cancer Center will be featured in a documentary on death and dying that premieres on Wisconsin Public Television later this month.

Consider the Conversation 2: Stories about Cure, Relief and Comfort will premiere on Tuesday, May 27 at 9 p.m. on Wisconsin Public TV stations across the state.

The documentary includes UW Carbone Cancer Center Drs. Jim Cleary and Toby Campbell and some of their patients. The exchanges between the doctors and their patients were filmed in real time.

Producers Terry Kaldhusdal and Mike Bernhagen said the goals of the documentary are to help patients, families and doctors understand that talking in advance about end-of-life wishes can prevent unnecessary suffering and to demonstrate that patient-doctor communications are just as important as diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
