THE EDGEWATER TO HOST JULY 21 JOB FAIR
The historic hotel’s prepares for its return to Madison and August opening
Madison, Wis., July 11, 2014 – The Edgewater (1001 Wisconsin Place) today announced that it will host a job fair on July 21, 2014, at the downtown campus of Madison Area Technical College (211 N. Carroll St.) from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Interviews will be held onsite during the job fair. The event is being scheduled after the success of an earlier job fair that drew hundreds to the college for the opportunity to work at the much-anticipated 202-room hotel and its numerous food and beverage outlets.
Both full- and part-time candidates will be able to supply a resume or fill out an employment application and be interviewed on the spot during the job fair. They also will be able to learn more about The Edgewater through renderings of the what the property will look like when completed, examples of employee uniforms and suits, amenities that will be used at the spa, and the place-setting that will be used in the Statehouse, the hotel’s signature restaurant. Current staff also will be on hand to great candidates.
“The Edgewater will be defined by the people on our team. We’re looking for the very best individuals who are committed to delivering authentic hospitality to our guests,” said Ron Morin, The Edgewater’s general manager and senior vice president. “During our job fair on the July 21, we’ll be looking for dedicated, hardworking people who can help us do that through a variety of positions. We expect the same level of interest for this job fair as we had in our first job fair earlier in July.”
The Edgewater is accepting applications for full- and part-time positions on the food and beverage, rooms and house, and Edgewater Spa teams. Examples of open positions include: server, bartender, hostess, barista, accounts receivable/payable coordinator, front desk agent, concierge, reservation agent, room attendant, engineer, massage therapist, cosmetologist, and fitness trainer.
