MADISON, WI (April 10, 2014) – Stevens Construction Corp., one of the largest General Contractors in the Upper Midwest, was recently recognized with construction industry awards for three landmark projects.

Associated Builders & Contractors of Wisconsin honored Stevens Construction with the prestigious 2013 Projects of Distinction awards for the Hilton Garden Inn – Downtown Milwaukee, 36 Park – St. Louis Park, Minnesota and Stevens Construction Corporate Office – Madison projects, at an event hosted at the Glacier Canyon Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI. Stevens Bedford Crossing apartment project in Madison received an Honorable Mention.

The Hilton Garden Inn – Downtown Milwaukee is an exemplary renovation of the historic circa 1886 Loyalty Building into a vibrant, modern 127-room hotel. Owned by Illinois-based First Hospitality Group, the building is one of Milwaukee’s architectural treasures and original headquarters of Northwestern Mutual Life. The one-year transformation of the Loyalty Building included careful preservation of unique features such as bank vault doors, wood paneling, tile flooring, ornamental plaster ceilings, marble and bronze staircase and atrium skylights. Designed by Kahler Slater of Milwaukee, the hotel opened in November 2012.

36 Park is a 192-unit luxury apartment community located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. The upscale apartment living project is a unique combination of modern design, environmental stewardship and art. The 10-story concrete frame development is a LEED registered building featuring a rooftop terrace with fire pit, as well as clubroom, culinary kitchen, fireplace, piazza recreation area, fitness center, tanning room, pet wash, hospitality suite and business center. Through careful planning and scheduling savvy, crews were able to deliver the 217,000 square foot building one month ahead of schedule.

The new corporate headquarters building for Stevens Construction Corp. was constructed with features to demonstrate the high quality workmanship of the company’s field employees and subcontractors. Exposed structural concrete elements, curtain wall glazing, richly-detailed casework, and custom furniture were integrated into the contemporary structure. With an emphasis on efficient space planning and cutting edge design elements, the building now provides an open and inviting atmosphere for its staff and visitors.
