St. Norbert College: Third annual Don Schneider Memorial 5K Challenge Run to be held as part of “SNC Day”

De Pere, Wis.: The third annual Don Schneider Memorial Challenge Run will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, and is part of the college’s SNC Day activities.

The 5k course will begin and end on campus, looping south on Lost Dauphin Road. It is loosely based on the “Tough Mudder” obstacle-course races designed by British Special Forces, but will not be extreme.

Registration is $15, and runners will receive a commemorative long sleeve T-shirt. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.

Don Schneider was a longtime trustee, adjunct professor and generous friend of St. Norbert College, as well as an avid runner. Proceeds from the race will benefit Don Schneider Memorial Scholarships at St. Norbert College. To register, see www.snc.edu/sncday.

Showers and food/refreshments will be available in Schuldes Sports Center for runners after the race.

SNC Day is a campus open house held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Race participants can stay and enjoy boat rides on the Fox River, three stages of entertainment, food, children’s and wellness activities, lectures by St. Norbert College faculty, and trolley rides to Schneider Stadium to watch St. Norbert take on North Central College in football at 1 p.m. (admission is free to the public). Segway tours of campus and the surrounding area will be offered.
