EDC Elects Officers & Directors at Annual Meeting

New President is a St. Joe Resident and Banker

New Directors include Wealth Manager, Banker, and Telco Manager

Three County Supervisors Appointed to the Board

St. Croix Economic Development Corporation (EDC) held its annual meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Scott Wagner, a Business Banking Vice President with Bremer Bank (New Richmond, Wisc. branch), was elected to a 1-year term as president. He has served on the EDC board of directors since May 2010 and replaces Marian Furlong, President and CEO of Hudson Hospital & Clinics, HealthPartners Family of Care, who completed her term as president.

Chuck Jerrick was elected first vice president. He is a Vice President at WESTconsin Credit Union (Hudson, Wisc. branch).

Lisa Knutson, Store Manager of Village Pharmacy in Baldwin, was elected second vice president.

Mark Mitchell, Director of Project Development with Derrick Building Solutions (New Richmond, Wisc.), was elected corporate secretary/treasurer.

Incumbent director Paul Schwebach was re-elected to a 3-year term on the board. Earlier this year he retired as Branch Manager of Royal Credit Union (RCU) in River Falls.

Brett Anderson, David Tyvoll, and Duane Russett were elected to the board. Anderson is the President of St. Croix Advisors (Hudson, Wisc.), a wealth management firm. Tyvoll is a Commercial Lender and Vice President with First Bank of Baldwin (Baldwin, Wisc.), and Russett is the Plant Manager at Baldwin Telecom (Baldwin, Wisc.).

Three county supervisors were appointed to the board – Travis Schachtner (District 1), Agnes Ring (District 2) and Dave Ostness (District 10). Schachtner and Ostness have served on the EDC board since 2012. Ring chairs of the county’s community development committee.

Marian Furlong, Gregg Knapp, CPA, George Hauser, and Roger Humphrey completed their final terms on the EDC board. Both Humphrey and Furlong held the office of President and other executive officer positions. Furlong will remain on the EDC executive committee through May 2015 in the capacity of Past President.

The board of directors accepted the 2013 financial review from Guinn, Vinopal & Zahradka, LLP.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a plaque was presented to Marian Furlong for her service as president. The four departing directors – Marian Furlong, Gregg Knapp, George Hauser, and Roger Humphrey also received mementoes for serving on the board.
