Savant Capital Management Names Michael Cyrs as Lead for New Estate and Wealth Transfer Service

Cyrs brings more than 20 years of experience in complex estate wealth transfer matters.

Family Wealth Transfer service will further enhance Savant’s offerings for high-net worth clients.

Specialized service will be a vital resource to the legal community.

Madison, Wis. (November 6, 2014) – Savant Capital Management, a nationally recognized fee-only wealth management firm headquartered in Rockford and with an office in Madison, announced today that Michael Cyrs has been hired as Estate and Wealth Transfer Advisor. Cyrs will head up the firm’s newly formed Family Wealth Transfer service.

In this new role Cyrs will work with clients on complex estate and wealth transfer matters. With more than 20 years’ experience as an attorney concentrating on estate and business succession planning and administration, Cyrs’ expertise will be extremely beneficial to Savant clients in need of specific services that includes estate planning, wealth transfer, charitable planning, asset protection, and business succession planning. Cyrs will also work with attorneys as a technical resource to help coordinate legal projects related to their clients’ sophisticated estate and wealth transfer needs.

A well-known attorney in Rockford, Cyrs is also a Certified Financial Plannertm professional. In the past he has served as Chairman of the Winnebago County Bar Association’s Business and Tax Section and as Treasurer of the Winnebago County Bar Association. He was a member of the Trusts and Estates Section Council for the Illinois State Bar Association and was recognized by the national publication Worth Magazine as one of the top estate planning attorneys in Illinois. Cyrs was also named a Leading Lawyer in the fields of trusts and estates and is a frequent speaker on estate and business succession planning.

In 2008, Cyrs was awarded the Order of St. Gregory by the Holy See for his service to the Catholic Diocese of Rockford, for which he has served on the Finance Council and various ad hoc committees.

He recently served as a member of the Finance Council for the Diocese and is a Director for the OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center Foundation. Cyrs is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received his M.B.A. and J.D. from Marquette University.
