Road America: Continental tire named title sponsor for sports car road race showcase

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., May 28, 2014 – Road America and Continental Tire, a leading manufacturer of passenger and light truck tires, have agreed to a multi-year partnership that makes Continental Tire the title sponsor for Road America’s most popular sports car racing weekend August 7-10. The newly titled “Continental Tire Road Race Showcase” will include the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge on Saturday and the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship race on Sunday, plus races from the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge, IMSA Prototype Lites and the Mazda MX-5 Cup.

The Road America Road Race Showcase will be an action-packed weekend of excitement with practice and qualifying on Friday. The Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge takes place on Saturday with the green flag dropping at 12:15 p.m. The racing action will continue throughout the weekend when the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Continental Tire 245 hits the twists and turns of Road America on Sunday at 1 p.m. The race will air on Fox Sports 1 at 5:30 p.m. Central Time on Sunday.
