Local Restaurant Offers Discounted Food to Police Officers and Paramedics

Janesville, WI – With everything that a police officer or paramedic can encounter during a normal day on the job—from violence to accidents to natural disasters—it’s no surprise these jobs rank as some of the most stressful in America. In recognition of this dedication, Quaker Steak & Lube, will honor these brave men and women by offering 20 percent off their tabs in celebrating National Police Week and National EMS Week, together, from May 12 – May 18.

“We know they’re out there every day doing so much more than we could ever dream of doing,” said Scott Acker, owner of the Wisconsin Quaker Steak & Lube franchises. “We’re in the hospitality industry, so hospitality is what we’ll show these brave men and women.”

In addition to the meal discount at any of Wisconsin’s Quaker Steak & Lube locations—Middleton, New Berlin and Janesville—the officers and paramedics will receive a heartfelt thanks from the staff in recognition of their work. Police/EMS personnel can dine in or order for their team, as boxed lunches, catering and delivery is also available.

Acker has worked closely with Wisconsin-area police departments. In addition to hosting National Police Week festivities for the past three years, Acker also donated a motorcycle lease to the Middleton Police Department and has renewed the lease through 2015.

“It’s immeasurable, the value they give back to Wisconsin,” said Acker. “and anything we can do to help them do their job better or make their life happier, we’re definitely going to do it.”
