MILWAUKEE (February 7, 2014) – The Milwaukee Press Club is pleased to announce its next Newsmaker Luncheon will feature Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Frank Almond. The luncheon will take place Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub in Milwaukee, 137 E. Wells St.

Mr. Almond was recently the victim of an armed robbery in which the Lipinski Stradivarius violin was stolen. Yesterday, that instrument was recovered by the Milwaukee Police Department and will soon be reunited with Almond. The 1715 Lipinski Stradivarius was on loan to Almond from an anonymous local donor and is appraised at $5 million.

According to Mark Niehaus, President and Executive Director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the first local interview opportunities with Mr. Almond will be at the next Newsmaker Luncheon. If you are interested in speaking with Frank, please plan to attend.

Frank Almond will be interviewed by a panel of Milwaukee journalists.

The Milwaukee Press Club’s Newsmaker Luncheon Series is sponsored by Journal Communications and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The Milwaukee Press Club presents the Newsmaker Luncheons to shed light on issues of the day. The public is invited to attend the luncheons.
