THE MILWAUKEE BUCKS PREP SERIES – PRESENTED THIS YEAR BY THE MAJERUS FAMILY FOUNDATION – TIPS OFF ITS 24TH SEASON TODAY
Foundation will award $25,000 in scholarships to deserving Prep Series participants
The Milwaukee Bucks will once again welcome regional high school basketball action to the BMO Harris Bradley Center court as the Milwaukee Bucks Prep Series tips off this afternoon. Now in its 24th year, the Prep Series serves as a showcase for top prep talent and provides regional high school basketball squads with the unique opportunity to play regular season games in a professional environment.
This year’s edition of the Prep Series features additional support from the Majerus Family Foundation, an organization founded to support athletics, education, medical research and social justice – four areas dear to legendary basketball coach Rick Majerus and his family.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Milwaukee Bucks to sponsor the Prep Series,” said Jodi Majerus, Rick’s sister and president of the Majerus Family Foundation. “Rick loved coaching and sharing the game with young people. The opportunity for high school students to play on the Bucks court and experience basketball at an entirely new level is something the Majerus Family Foundation is proud to support.
“Rick also emphasized the importance of the student athlete. To honor Rick’s commitment to the classroom, the Majerus Family Foundation will be awarding $25,000 in scholarships to deserving Prep Series participants.”
With 13 games on the schedule featuring 22 local schools, the Prep Series is also designed to support the schools and community. Each participating school has the ability to raise funds for its athletic or community service projects by selling tickets to Bucks games. Fans, athletes and faculty from participating schools are encouraged to stay downtown upon the completion of their games to attend the Bucks game. Special ticket pricing is available for the Bucks games, and each school will retain a portion of its sales.
The high school games feature unreserved seating in the lower bowl of the arena. Spectators attending the high school games can enter the BMO Harris Bradley Center approximately 30 minutes before tipoff through the Potawatomi Gate (Fourth Street and Highland). The arena will be cleared at the conclusion of each game, and fans with a ticket to that evening’s Bucks game can re-enter the BMO Harris Bradley Center one hour prior to tipoff.
