Bucks to move to expanded office space in Schlitz Park in January 2015
Over 40 Bucks employees added to bring organization to over 130 employees
Today, the Milwaukee Bucks announced that the organization has grown by 50 percent since May, to over 130 employees, and will be relocating from its current offices in the Milwaukee Theatre to a single, large office space in the redeveloped corporate campus of Schlitz Park. Over the past several months, the team has invested heavily to improve operations both on and off the court. Approximately 40 new employees were added to the sales staff and the executive team has been strengthened, reflecting the Bucks’ commitment to building a world-class franchise.
The new Schlitz Park office space is located on the sixth floor of the Stock-House building, at 1543 N. Second St., overlooking downtown and the Milwaukee River. While the business operations of the Bucks organization are currently housed in separate office spaces, the team’s new office allows the full business team to work together in a modern, open floor concept that spans nearly 18,000 square feet.
“Schlitz Park offers a wonderful environment for us to take the next step in building one of the best sports franchises in the world,” said Bucks owner Marc Lasry. “It’s a terrific example of what makes Milwaukee so special. Built on the preservation of this city’s historic legacy, Schlitz Park has become a vibrant, modern professional community and the perfect home for us. We are excited that this investment in the Bucks future will strengthen our bond with Milwaukee and help the city’s revitalization.”
The Schlitz Park community occupies the former Schlitz Brewery and spans 46 acres in the heart of downtown Milwaukee’s River North neighborhood. It is owned and managed by The Brewery Works, Inc., the organization formed by the families that purchased the Schlitz Park property in 1983 and led the transformative redevelopment of the Milwaukee landmark.
“The entire Schlitz Park community is thrilled to say that we’re home to the Milwaukee Bucks organization,” said Gary Grunau, developer of Schlitz Park. “When we first set out to revitalize the old Schlitz Brewery in 1983, we had a vision to build a community that would drive economic growth for all of Milwaukee while keeping Milwaukee’s historic legacy intact. The Bucks are a valuable partner in that effort and we’re proud they’re basing their office here.”
Schlitz Park is also home to more than 4,300 employees for various companies. Current tenants include major Milwaukee organizations like ManpowerGroup, Time Warner and others that provide financial services, health care, employment, education, technical and other essential services.
“We’re putting together one of the most talented and hard-working group of professionals in the NBA and now we’re excited to have one of the best offices in sports,” added Bucks President Peter Feigin. “Milwaukee offered a number of worthwhile locations, but Schlitz Park was the right community for us to expand our footprint downtown and bring our business team together. We’ll be able to further integrate ourselves with more Milwaukee businesses and create the best possible work environment for our employees. We’re excited to make Schlitz Park our new home for this new Bucks era.”
