Michael Best: Associate Valerie L. Green named “rising star” by super lawyers magazine

Ms. Green Is a Member of the Firm’s Energy Industry Team



WASHINGTON D.C. (April 30, 2014) – Valerie L. Green, an associate in the Energy Industry Team at Michael Best & Friedrich, was recently named one of Super Lawyers magazine’s 2014 Washington D.C. Rising Stars in the Utilities category.



Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The Rising Stars list recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys who are 40 years old or younger, or have been practicing for less than 10 years.

Ms. Green joined the Washington D.C. office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP earlier this year in the firm’s Transactional Practice Group and is a member of the Energy Industry Team. Ms. Green concentrates her practice on electric, natural gas and related energy matters. She represents clients in administrative litigation, investigations and other proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other regulatory agencies.



Prior to joining Michael Best, Ms. Green practiced as a Senior Managing Associate in Dentons U.S. LLP’s Energy, Transport and Infrastructure Group. During that time she represented electric cooperatives, investor-owned utilities and transmission providers, power and transmission customers and a retail regulator in proceedings before FERC and state public utility commissions.



Ms. Green received her Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of Law, and her Bachelor of the Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
