MADISON – Four college students pursuing careers in the construction and building trades
were each awarded a $2,000 scholarship by the Madison Area Builders Association
To address labor shortages and highlight the broad array of careers that comprise the building
the industry, the Madison Area Builders Association is pleased to announce its 2014
scholarship award winners.
The recipients include:
– Matthew Sobczak enrolled in Construction Management at UW-Stout
– Mitchell Sellhausen enrolled in Construction Management at UW-Stout
– Caleb Fredrickson enrolled in Engineering at UW-Madison
– Dustin Burkhalter enrolled in Cabinetry and Millwork at Madison College
The scholarships are awarded to students that are enrolled in a post-secondary institution and
are pursuing careers in the building and construction industry. Scholarship awards are
available on annual basis.
“In an effort to draw attention to the many careers available in the building industry from civil
engineers and designers to carpentry and everything in between, we are pleased to award
these scholarships to these deserving students,” stated Amber Schroeder, Executive Director
of the Association.
