HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ANNOUNCES STATEWIDE SPRING TOOL DRIVE

With spring fast approaching, now’s a great time to clean out your basements, garages or tool sheds and donate to Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin’s first annual tool drive! The Habitat for Humanity Spring Tool Drive will be held from Tuesday, March 18th through Saturday, March 22nd. Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the state are in need of tools that are new, or used but in good condition to help in their work to construct or repair homes. Tools will also be sold at the ReStores to help raise funds for Habitat.

Tool donations will be accepted at Habitat ReStore locations across the state, as well as other drop-off locations. A complete listing of collection sites can be found at www.habitatwisconsin.org/springtooldrive. Tool donations may be a noncash tax deduction. Check with your tax preparer for more information.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to get involved in the Habitat mission, simply by donating tools no longer being used, or ones purchased new. We’ll put them to good use,” said Sara Kierzek, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin. “And, of course, we welcome cash donations as well to put toward the purchase of additional tools.”

Churches, school groups, businesses and other organizations are also encouraged to collect tools for donation. Please contact your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate for more details on how to get started on your own drive for Habitat.
