FBFC Recognized for Lending to Veteran Owned Businesses

Oconomowoc, Wis. – First Bank Financial Centre (FBFC), Wisconsin’s #1 SBA lender, and ranked 28th in the nation for loan volume, is proud to be recognized by the SBA as a leader in their Veteran’s Initiative program, designed to increase lending for veteran owned businesses. At this year’s Wisconsin Lenders Conference, FBFC was presented with the SBA Lender of the Year Award by Eric Ness, Patrick Kelley and Marianne Markowitz.

On February 1, 2013, FBFC signed a best efforts five year pledge to support the Veteran’s Initiative, which had a goal of increasing the Veteran lending activity within the Bank by over 5% of the prior year’s performance. In their first year, FBFC is proud to announce they have exceeded their goal! First Bank Financial Centre extended 18 SBA loans to Veterans in the amount of $3,903,000.

The SBA was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of the nation. Although SBA has grown and evolved over the years, the bottom line mission remains the same; the SBA helps Americans start, build and grow businesses.
