Announcing CodeChix, Madison’s Newest Technology Venue for Women

CodeChix is a new non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the education, advocacy and mentorship of female software engineers. We are operated by local women developers for local women developers. We are specifically targeting female engineers in industry on the technical ladder, fresh graduates entering the industry or women returning to industry after a break. We will offer technical talks, hands-on workshops, and hack sessions.

“CodeChix* was founded in the San Francisco Bay area, has a chapter in Seattle and Madison will be the first chapter in the Midwest,” said co-founder BJ Pfeiffer. “Madison has one of the best creative environments in the country and is an ideal place to launch this new tech-focused organization for women,” she said.

Liz Abinante, of Girl Develop It, Chicago, will lead CodeChix first Madison workshop, “From Concept to Product: How Features Are Born” on Thursday, August 21 from 4 to 5 pm at Madison College Downtown, 211 N Carroll Street, Room D240 (B). The workshop is free, but pre-registration is requested at:
