Center for Families: Welcomes new development manager, Julie Sheldon

Madison, WI, – July 7, 2014 – Center for Families, a Dane County-based nonprofit that partners with parents in their efforts to nurture, protect and teach their children, is pleased to announce the recent new hire of Julie Sheldon as Development Manager (as of June 2, 2014).

Sheldon comes to Center for Families with a long background in marketing, event planning and fundraising experience. Julie also has served in various roles with the Madison Area Builders Association, the Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and is the co-organizer of Quiet Santa, a sensory-friendly event for children with autism and other special needs to meet with Santa in a quiet setting.

“I am proud to be partnering with Center for Families.” stated Julie. “Knowing that over 5,000 children and their families are receiving support through our programs is very rewarding. I am excited to collaborate with local business and individuals in strengthening families and preventing child abuse”.

Sheldon’s first endeavor will be hosting the Center’s “6th Annual Paint the Town Blue” event on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Monies raised at this is event goes to support our programs including home visits to support new parents, play & learn activities to promote school readiness, support groups and workshops to foster strong parenting, and 24 hour respite/crisis child care during tough times.
