MADISON, Wis. (March 27, 2014)—The Cars on State Classic Car Show returns to State Street in Madison for an 8th year on Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 10 am to 3 pm. CALL FOR ENTRIES: Organizers are looking for cars and trucks more than 20 years old and hope to showcase Madison-area classics in the show. The entry deadline is Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
The event has quickly become a downtown Madison tradition. Cars featured in the 2013 show included a 1926 Ford Lincoln (purchased by the owner’s grandfather from Weber Motor Co. in Milwaukee) , 1928 2-door Ford Roadster, a 1928 Packard 4 door sedan, 1941 Zephyr Convertible (which has crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice), 1958 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, 1966 ¾-ton GMC Fleetside pickup passed down from the owner’s grandfather, a 1966 Volkswagen Bus with camper interior, 1968 Pontiac GTO, a 1973 Plymouth ‘Cuda, a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am (“all original, not restored”), and a 1979 Volkswagen Bug convertible (“last year made”).
This family-friendly event offers a perfect day to come downtown and take a stroll after the Farmers Market on the Square to see a wonderful array of classic cars and trucks, talk to the owners, grab a bite to eat, and shop at downtown businesses, many locally owned.
