FOND DU LAC, Wis. – (Nov. 3, 2014) – Alliance Laundry Systems, the leading global commercial laundry equipment provider, has been named 2014 Business of the Year by Marian University. Alliance was one of six Wisconsin businesses and leaders recognized at the Oct. 28 awards ceremony in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by a leading university in our community, and to be added to the list of exceptional companies who have been named Business of the Year before us,” said Alliance Chief Executive Officer and President Mike Schoeb, who accepted the award on behalf of the company. “While Alliance’s global footprint continues to expand, we take great pride in telling customers that Ripon, Wisconsin is our home.”
For 33 years, the Business and Industry Awards program has recognized Wisconsin organizations and leaders who have made a significant positive contribution to their organization and community. Previous recipients of the Business of the Year award include Acuity, New Glarus Brewing Company, Oshkosh Corporation, Quad/Graphics and S.C. Johnson.
“For its exceptional laundry equipment and service, ever-growing economic influence, and dedication to customers and the community, Alliance is highly deserving of this recognition,” said Jeffrey Reed, Dean and Professor, Marian University School of Business and Public Safety. “Already an outstanding company and industry leader, Alliance continues to grow and thrive.”
Founded in 1908, Alliance has more than 2,500 employees worldwide working in more than 1.4 million square feet of global facility space. With a presence in more than 100 countries, Alliance continues to expand its laundry expertise and solutions to serve additional international markets. Over the past two years, the company has increased its manufacturing facilities at its Ripon, Wisconsin headquarters in a two-phase, $69 million expansion.
In addition to Business of the Year, five other awards were presented to area businesses and leaders at the ceremony. The awards program helps raise scholarship funds for students in the Marian University School of Business and Public Safety.
