MADISON, Wis. – Agrace, Wisconsin’s largest nonprofit community hospice and palliative care agency, has appointed Dena Green, MD, as chief medical officer.

Dr. Green joined Agrace in August 2010 and served at Agrace previously in 2007 as well. She joined Agrace from Mercy Health System in Janesville, where she was a hematology/oncology physician and co-medical director of the Mercy Hospice.

Dr. Green practiced general oncology for eight years before changing her practice focus to hospice and palliative medicine. A graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin, she is board certified in palliative medicine, medical oncology and hematology.

As medical director, Dr. Green will play a key role in the operation of the Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, a 12-bed inpatient hospice facility opening at 2901 N. Wright Rd. in Janesville July 1. She serves as co-chair of Agrace’s ethics committee and is part of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) committee.

“Dr. Green is a dedicated team player who exemplifies the values of our organization in her work each day. We are certain that her contributions as chief medical officer will help enhance Agrace’s partnership with patients and families in Janesville, Rock County and beyond,” said Lynne Myers, Agrace President and CEO.
