7Summits’ Board of Directors: Ron Gidwitz joins 7Summits’ board of directors, brings large enterprise experience and consumer products focus to role

MILWAUKEE (June 9, 2014) – 7Summits, a social business solutions provider, announced today that Ron Gidwitz, co-founder of GCG Partners and former CEO of the Unilever HPC Helene Curtis business unit, has accepted a position to join the company’s board of directors. This brings the board size to five members, with one position yet to be filled.

“Ron’s substantial leadership experience will prove invaluable to 7Summits as we position the company for the future,” said Paul Stillmank, CEO of 7Summits. “His leadership positions in Fortune 300 companies and large not-for-profit and public agencies traverse a broad cross-section of the companies that we are transforming, and we look forward to his strategic insights.”

Gidwitz’ extensive history of board service includes serving as chairman of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Economic Development Commission of the City of Chicago, the Board of Trustees of the City Colleges of Chicago, the Chicago Central Area Committee and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. He also currently acts as member of the Board of Trustees/Directors for the Field Museum, Rush University Medical Center, The Museum of Science and Industry and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Currently, Gidwitz serves as governor and chairman of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and chairman of The New Prosperity Foundation and The Economic Freedom Alliance.

“Local communities would be better served if the cutting-edge skills and expertise that 7Summits offers were implemented in the public sector,” said Gidwitz. “No one else is doing the kinds of work 7Summits is doing. I am honored and excited to employ my leadership proficiency in those areas to better serve 7Summits and their clients.”

Gidwitz joins Stillmank, Joe Durrett and two principals from Sverica International, a San Francisco-based private equity investment firm that recently completed a growth investment in 7Summits, on the board. The expanding board of directors is designed to bring business insight and networking power to the company as 7Summits makes strategic investments designed to drive the company’s continued aggressive growth and make their social business solutions available to broader markets, both industry and geographic related.
