Milwaukee, Wisconsin (April 25, 2013) — Wipfli LLP (Wipfli) announced that Steve Thompson, a seasoned health care professional and partner, has been named the partner-in-charge of the firm’s health care practice. He is succeeding Bob Parrish, who will be retiring after having led Wipfli’s health care industry practice for the past 15 years. In his new role, Thompson will be responsible for continuing to build the health care practice for the firm and leading Wipfli’s experienced health care team as they continue to serve organizations in the health care industry and provide them with insightful thought leadership and guidance.

With over 30 years of experience, Thompson currently provides financial and operational solutions to hospitals, nursing homes, rural health clinics, and home health agencies. In addition, he offers highly skilled operational and accounting assistance to advance facilities toward a sound financial status and has provided ongoing accounting support to facilities with transitioning financial managers. Steve is also a recognized knowledge leader in critical access hospitals, from both audit and reimbursement perspectives.

A certified public accountant, Thompson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, Thompson has served as chair, president or a board member for a number of community nonprofit organizations. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
