Wipfli LLP devotes workday to community service in the Milwaukee area

Firm’s ninth annual “Community Day” to be held on September 26

Milwaukee, Wisconsin (September 24, 2013) — Wipfli LLP (Wipfli) will close its offices on September 26 so associates throughout the firm can devote the day to giving back to the communities.

The firm’s Milwaukee office associates will volunteer for the following organizations:

  • Growing Power, an organization that offers teens an opportunity to work at a store and renovate greenhouses to grow food for their community. The organization is located at 5500 West Silver Spring Drive in Milwaukee.
  • Feeding America, an organization that distributes more than 20 million pounds of food a year to 1,000 pantries and nonprofit agencies that service 330,000 people in need. The organization is located at 1700 West Fond du Lac Avenue in Milwaukee.
  • Hope House, an organization with a mission to end homelessness and create healthy communities by offering residential services, education and community outreach programs, such as Angel of Hope, United South Side Food Pantry, and more. The organization is located at 209 West Orchard Street in Milwaukee.
  • Hunger Task Farm, an organization that works to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need. The organization is located at 9000 South 68th Street in Franklin.
  • Journey House, a community infrastructure that increases education, reduces unemployment and crime, strengthens families, and revitalizes neighborhoods. The organization is located at 2110 West Scott Street in Milwaukee.
  • Lad Lake, an organization that provides highly individualized care focusing on the core areas of education, independent living, mentoring, and residential services for at-risk youth in Southeastern Wisconsin. Their residential campus in Dousman and their two school sites in Milwaukee serve more than 1,800 youth a year. The Wipfli associates will be volunteering at W350 S1401 Waterville Road in Dousman.
  • Literacy Services, an organization that offers services for motivated adult learners who want to improve their education. The organization is located at 161 West Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee

  • YMCA Camp Minikani, a camp that provides a safe, positive environment where friendships grow and kids discover themselves. Camp offerings range from overnight camp and equestrian programs to environmental education. The camp is located at 875 Amy Belle Lane in Hubertus.
