Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C.: Adds three attorneys to its Milwaukee office

Milwaukee –December 11, 2013– The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. (WHD) is pleased to announce the addition of Jack J. Carver and Ariane C. Strombom to its Corporate & Finance Practice Group, and Nida Shakir to its Litigation Practice Group.

Carver is a member of the Commercial Finance Team. Prior to joining WHD, he worked as a student attorney at the Washtenaw County Office of Public Defender, where he interviewed clients, conducted research, participated in hearings, and negotiated plea bargains for clients in pretrial or bond hearing stages of criminal trials.

Carver also served as an intern for Judge Richard Conlin of Michigan’s 14th District; as a staff researcher for the Center on Wisconsin Strategy; as a reporter for The Western Herald; and as a research intern for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and his B.A. in Economics and English from the University of Wisconsin.

Strombom is a member of the Technology Law, Corporate Transactions and Health Care Law teams. Prior to joining WHD, she worked for The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a law clerk, assisting the company in enterprise-wide privacy and regulatory challenges posed by technology and new media integration. Strombom previously launched a national office of a global nonprofit in Qatar and led the national chapter of the same organization in the United Kingdom, managing and growing the charity’s relationships with global corporations and national blue-chip firms. She also has a background in website development and design.

During law school, Strombom argued before U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan in the final round of Marquette’s Jenkins Honors Moot Court Competition, and served as Comments Editor of the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review. She received her J.D. from Marquette University Law School, and her B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin.

Shakir is a member of the Business & Commercial Litigation Team. Prior to joining WHD, she worked as a judicial intern for Judge Joan Kessler at the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, where she conducted extensive research for judicial opinions related to civil and criminal cases. Shakir also worked as a law clerk for Froedtert Health, Inc., where she aided in the preparation for in-patient guardianship hearings, advised counsel regarding laws affecting hospital compliance, and drafted new hospital protocol. Prior to attending law school, Shakir worked as a policy adviser for the Office of Senator Richard J. Durbin, where she advised the senator on global health policy. She received her J.D. from Marquette University Law School, and her B.A., cum laude, in Political Science from DePaul University.
