MILWAUKEE – February 18, 2013 – The law firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. (WHD) has announced the hire of Patrick S. Coffey to lead the firm’s newly formed Corporate Compliance & White Collar Defense Team, which was created to expand the depth of services offered by the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.

Coffey is a former partner of a Chicago Am Law 100 international law firm and member of its litigation, health law and white collar practices. He has more than 25 years of experience defending civil and criminal litigation on a nationwide basis in a variety of regulated industry settings. Coffey earned his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, and his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is licensed to practice in both Wisconsin and Illinois.

Coffey will reside in WHD’s Milwaukee office where he will focus on white collar criminal and civil enforcement matters, internal investigations and business litigation with a continuing emphasis on health law matters. He will also maintain an office at 161 N. Clark St., Suite 4700, Chicago, to counsel WHD’s growing client base in Illinois and the surrounding areas.

As leader of the Corporate Compliance & White Collar Defense Team, Coffey joins 22 other WHD professionals who assist businesses and individuals with complex legal compliance issues including the alleged violation of federal and state laws and administrative regulations. The team’s experience spans a wide range of substantive areas, including accounting, banking, finance, tax, health care, insurance, government contracting, transportation, environmental, real estate, securities, and antitrust.

“WHD is a terrific law firm with a talented group of lawyers, and there is great fit between my health care, litigation and white collar practice and those same areas at WHD. I am excited to lead and grow this key practice team at a time of heightened regulatory and government enforcement activity and provide additional expertise to our corporate client base,” says Coffey.
