WEDC: Site assessment grant awarded to city of Milwaukee for groundwater monitoring in Menomonee Valley Industrial Center

MADISON, Wis.,August 28, 2013 – The City of Milwaukee has been awarded a $100,000 Site Assessment Grant by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to assist in environmental monitoring at the Menomonee Valley Industrial Center.

The grant will reimburse the city for conducting post-construction groundwater monitoring in the 133 acre site. This will facilitate redevelopment of the remaining available 10 acres in the industrial center.

The Brownfield Site Assessment Grant (SAG) Program is a state program for WEDC to grant funds to local governments to perform environmental investigations, demolition of structures, removal of abandoned containers and underground tank systems.
