October 2, 2013 Milwaukee, Wis. — Cudahy, Wis. Police Chief Thomas Poellot, 2013 president of the Milwaukee County Law Enforcement Executives Association (MCLEEA) will share his thoughts on leadership and public transparency at the Beyond Conflict 2013 conference on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Brookfield, Wis.

Beyond Conflict 2013 (http://www.BeyondConflict2013.com) will be held Nov. 7-10, 2013, at the Brookfield Sheraton Hotel in Brookfield, Wis. The conference explores the many applications of the Verbal Defense & Influence conflict management strategies taught by the Vistelar Group. The conference is open to the public.

“Within a police staff, Verbal Defense & Influence is an essential risk management tool,” said Poellot, who was recently certified as a Verbal Defense & Influence Instructor. “When law enforcement officers and dispatchers are more effective and professional, citizen complaints are lessened and the risk of having to use force is substantially reduced.”

In addition to his duties as MCLEEA President, Poellot also leads the group’s Domestic Violence Committee. He serves on the Board of the Sojourner Family Peace Center and has developed ongoing partnerships with all of the domestic violence service providers within the area. He is also a member of the Wisconsin Department of Justice Domestic Violence Training Team.

Poellot has served as the Chief of Police for the City of Cudahy since 2007.
