American Family Children’s Hospital and UW-Extension partnership provides access
MADISON, Wis. — The Pyle Center has invited 500 American Family Children’s Hospital pediatric patients and family members to view the Rhythm & Booms fireworks display July 3 from the University of Wisconsin-Extension conference center at 702 Langdon St. on the UW-Madison campus.
“The Pyle Center provides an exceptional viewing opportunity in a safe environment,” said Bill Mann, UW-Extension Conference Centers executive director. “The vantage point and accessibility of our facility allows us to provide a memorable experience for the patients and families who might not have otherwise been able to attend the show.”
They can watch the Midwest’s largest fireworks display from two completely accessible areas at the center: outdoor seating on the Rooftop Terrace or indoor seating in the Alumni Lounge. Like last year, Madison-area businesses are donating food for the event. New this year, the event will feature children’s games, a raffle and a live DJ to set the mood before the show begins at 9:30 p.m.
“Last year many families who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to attend a fireworks display due to crowds or noise were so thankful for this invitation,” said Julie Auenson, American Family Children’s Hospital child life services manager and coordinator of this event. “We greatly appreciate the Pyle Center again offering the Rhythm & Booms event for patients and families from the American Family Children’s Hospital to attend.”
