UW Credit Union: UW Credit Union to raise funds for Celebrate Smiles program

Madison, WI – November 20, 2013 – UW Credit Union is partnering with Access Community Health Centers to raise funds and create awareness for its Celebrate Smiles program. Between now and Dec. 31, 2013, UW Credit Union will match $25,000 of member donations made through Web Branch or at a branch location.

Celebrate Smiles sends licensed dental staff into Dane County schools, providing preventative and other dental treatment to children who don’t have adequate, if any, access to dental coverage. “This care is critical and gives hundreds of kids a better chance to do well in school,” said Ken Loving, M.D., CEO of Access Community Health Centers. “We work with both the schools and the families to make sure that dental care is available to every child who needs it.”

The need for children’s dental care is real. In fact, in Wisconsin alone, 37 percent of children have never seen a dentist, and 29 percent of children have untreated cavities. Celebrate Smiles relies on community donations and grants for support.

“We are dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve by bettering people’s lives,” said Paul Kundert, President & CEO of UW Credit Union. “We’re proud to partner with Access Community Health Centers for this giving opportunity so more children can have pain-free, healthier smiles.”
